How Concordia Chandlery was born

​

My love of these beautiful carved candles started when I was a little girl. My mother had a pretty little carved candle in her dining room cabinet and I often stopped to admire the intricate twists and curls of wax. Although my mother never lit it, that little candle intrigued me. Many years later, my mother gifted me a book on making carved candles. With excitement and lots of laughs, my youngest sister and I collected our wax and dyes and attempted our first carved candles. Although they cooled too fast and were too brittle to finish properly, the love of making them was born that evening. Excitement set in and a delightful hobby was created for both of us. Over time we slowly perfected our craft through trial and error, until our candles became treasured gifts among family and friends.

With the full support of my sister, who has branched out in her own way, and the firm backing of my incredible husband, a little candle making nook was incorporated into our family home. This nook has since grown into a pleasant work room. Each candle crafted in our studio is made to order especially for you and your loved ones, to bring the same joy and blessing into your home as the craft of making them has brought to mine.
